I remember when I first got into the fire service and learned how to calm my breathing and I used a lot less air from my SCBA. I had to re-train myself last week while using a gas mask. It’s a different experience but I almost got to the point of ripping the mask off during an incident while in a physical altercation. But I started going over everything since day one of this program. I still needed my “fight” but I also needed to think clearly. So I started using tools from this program and started calming down which helped immensely.

This week I worked my first night shift in almost three years since my “break down”.

I was able to not only pick up an extra shift last minute but it was my opposite shift and I didn’t have any issues well other than my sleep schedule got messed up but still.

Also worked out three days this week.
