Today I thought I would do things a bit different and give you full access to the first lesson that every single person in my Shift Work Cure program starts as soon as they join.
The reason it is the first lesson, is because it is simple and instantly takes a HUGE stress load off of your body giving you energy, clearer thinking, decreases body aches, helps digestion, moods and the list goes on…

Welcome to your first lesson. I’m so excited you joined us.
Today we are going to start a Water Challenge.
There are two things we need in order to stay alive.
Water and Oxygen.
Without them we’d die.
We are lucky that we have drinkable water available almost everywhere we go.
Though most of us only drink enough water to stay alive instead of drinking what is needed to function optimally.
Humans are the only species that sip water. We need way more water than a few sips here and there.
That’s all about to change. What I am going to teach you will instantly decrease stress you place on your body and impact how your brain thinks, your body moves, how you sleep and feel throughout the day.
It’s going to be a game changer.
So, let’s get started.
Our bodies are amazing at adapting to situations. And water is a prime example.
When we need water, our brain sends out a thirst signal. If we ignore this signal our brain thinks that we are somewhere where water isn’t readily available and it shifts into survival mode. Our thirst signal decreases or shuts off and our body chooses where the water we are drinking will be used. It starts with what we need least to survive and works its way up.
Over time our joint aches, brain gets foggy, fatigue and exhaustion set in. Rarely do we equate this to dehydration.
The more dehydrated we are the less functional our bodies are.
The more dehydrated we are the less functional our bodies are. You’ve seen people who are in medical distress from dehydration. Their bodies cramp up, they are disoriented, have trouble breathing and more.
Our thirst signal has turned off because our bodies think we are stuck in the Sahara Desert.
It’s time that we turn our thirst signal back on and get our bodies functioning optimally again with the water challenge.
The only way to do this is to start chugging water to tell your body that you are not in the desert anymore.
Trust me when I tell you from experience that after your realize how good you feel when you are hydrated, you will never want to stop drinking water!
Here is how the water challenge works
- Water is the only thing you will drink for the next 2 weeks. No coffee, juice, milk, energy drinks or any other drink. Only water for 2 weeks.
- Every time you think of water or look at your water bottle chug 500ml/16oz.
- Every night fill a water bottle and place it either beside your bed or on the kitchen counter if you come downstairs right away. Chug it as soon as you wake up.
- Carry at least one water bottle with you everywhere you go.
- Fill your water bottle every time you are able to even if it is not completely empty.
- On shift bring 2-3 full bottles as you are not always able to refill your bottle once it’s empty.
- And the last step is to Join our Facebook Group if you haven’t already and post a daily pic of you and your water bottle for the next month along with a quick sentence of how you are feeling on the challenge. The good and the bad.
When I started this challenge 1 cup was so difficult for me. I’d been sipping my whole life. But after a few days on the challenge 1 cup/8oz became easy and now I can chug 2 cups/16 oz no problem.
…you will find your brain will think clearer, you won’t be so tired, stress won’t bother you as much, your body won’t ache like it was before the challenge.
It’s pretty easy and will have a HUGE impact on how your body and brain functions.
Note that you may feel off around day 3-4 while your body is stabilizing and detoxing. Headaches, skin itchy, brain foggy, grumpier than usual may occur. That is your body detoxing and your stress management system not loving it.
Once this phase is over, you will find your brain will think clearer, you won’t be so tired, stress won’t bother you as much, your body won’t ache like it was before the challenge.
***Get clearance from your doctor before you start this challenge. Make sure you do not have any underlying conditions or medications that are contraindicated with this challenge. Listen to your body. If you find that your body is giving you signals that this water challenge is not for you, stop it immediately and consult with your physician.
